heating recovery
Heat recovery is a system that provides ventilation, linked to heating and cooling, to offset the problems associated with modern housing of humidity and poor air quality.
A heat recovery unit is positioned, usually in the roof space, to collect via ducting throughout the building the heat normally lost through extractor fans and trickle vents, expelling the stale air outside, while transferring the heat collected to fresh air brought in to the property via a separate inlet, before ducting it back to all the habitable rooms in the property.
Air temperature and fan speed can be adjusted to suit individual requirements and, typically, systems are capable of changing all the air in a property every two hours virtually noiselessly – alleviating allergy, hay-fever and asthma sufferers and controlling humidity problems, while enhancing energy efficiency and dispensing with the need for extractor fans or unsightly trickle ventilators.
